Shephelah

The Shephelah is the area runs between Mount Hebron and the coastal plains and the area belonged to the tribe of Judah.

This photo to the right is the valley of Elah where the battle of David and Goliath took place.

Next is a picture of our group standing in the brook of Elah from which David selected 5 smooth stones to use in his sling shot to bring Goliath down in the power of God.

This photo is looking out over the Sorek Valley where most of the story of Samson took place. Delilah was from the Sorek Valley and it's here that she found out the secret to Samson's strength (Judges 16)

Here is the ruins of the approach ramp of Lachish. It was one of the most important cities in Judah as it served as a protection to Jerusalem against invading armies and it was a battle location during the time of Joshua, Sennacherib/ Hezekiah and Nebuchadnezzar.
About 7 different books of the Bible mention Lachish. The discovery of Tel- Lachish was an important one in proving the authority and historical accuracy of Scripture.
