Take me to the Holy of Holies...

Today was my favorite field trip day by far. Everywhere we went and everything we saw just caused me to continually pray and lift up thanks to God for how He has so wonderfully worked out Salvation's plan and how everything He said would take place has, and will!

Here we are walking up the ramp way that goes over/near the Western Wall (above picture) and leads to the top of the Temple Mount.

The Temple Mount is now owned and run by Muslims. Non-Muslims are only allowed up at certain hours of the day.

This is the Muslim shrine known as The Dome of the Rock which was purposely built over the traditional site of the Temple of God.

However, this view shown here is most likely the actual original location of the Temple. It is to the right of the gold dome...you can see the corner edge of the done in the far left of the picture.

*Click on the picture to make it bigger.

-The little domed gazebo looking thing (straight back) is a monument that stands over what is believed by some to be the most likely spot of where the Holy of Holies was in the Temple!

Now this view is what you see when you turn around from the view above (of the temple area).

-The far hill is the Mount of Olives.
-You can barely see it but the Golden Gate is right under that church there (enlarge picture to see).
-And then right below, where the stone is, that is where the Women's Court would be, and then stairs leading up on to the Temple Mount, leading right forward into the Temple itself!

Here we are now standing under that little monument I was talking about. You can see where the man in red (Randy) is standing is a corner of what is a stone square. That is original bedrock, most likely from the Temple, and this is where the Holy of Holies most likely would have been.

And this is right next to that, but a smaller area that we believe was the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant itself. It fits the dimensions and descriptions in the Scriptures perfectly.

I found myself praying often for the souls and salvation of the devout Muslim and Jewish people that they would know the true God, Yahweh.

This is part of the old Herodian fortress (The Antonia Fortress) surrounding the temple wall.

The area below is a probable location of where the Apostle Paul was almost stoned by the Jews before the Roman Guard (stationed above on the fortress) came down and prevented them from hurting Paul.

This is the Golden Gate. Supposedly, if the gates were open, the doors of the Temple were open, the curtain of the Holy of Holies was open, they would all be in perfect alignment with where the red heifer is sacrificed on the Mount of Olives (where I am standing taking the picture) through the Temple mount, and leading to where Christ was crucified and buried! If that's true, then you can see the Dome of the Rock there behind the wall is out of line and not where the Temple could have been.

I love that picture. I long for the day when Christ returns, comes down on the Mt of Olives, passes through the Golden Gates and returns to Jerusalem! Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Oh and where I am standing is in a Jewish grave yard on the Mt. of Olives.
